What does a grammar checker do?
A grammar checker reads your text and corrects the mistakes that make writing harder to trust: misspelled words, missing commas, verbs that do not agree with their subjects, and tenses that drift halfway through a paragraph. A good one fixes those errors without turning your writing into someone else's.
That is the approach HumanizerGPT takes. Many tools flag style preferences as errors and push every sentence towards the same flat register. This checker treats your wording as a decision you made, and only touches what is actually wrong.
Common errors it catches
| Error | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Confused words | Their going to the meeting. | They're going to the meeting. |
| Subject–verb agreement | Each of the students have a part. | Each of the students has a part. |
| Spelling | We will finish tomorow. | We will finish tomorrow. |
| Apostrophes | The teams results are in. | The team's results are in. |
| Tense consistency | She opens the file and saw the error. | She opens the file and sees the error. |
| Run-on sentences | I called him he did not answer. | I called him, but he did not answer. |
Tips for cleaner writing
- Run the checker on your final draft, after you have finished restructuring, so you are not correcting sentences you will delete.
- Read the corrected version once. A checker fixes errors; only you can tell whether the sentence says what you mean.
- Keep sentences short when you can. Most grammar mistakes hide in long sentences with several clauses.
- For text that sounds stiff or robotic rather than wrong, use the AI rewriter or the AI humanizer instead.

Is the grammar checker free?
Yes. You can check up to 500 words a day without an account. The daily allowance is shared with the other writing tools on HumanizerGPT.
Will it rewrite my sentences?
No. The grammar checker makes the smallest edit that fixes each error and leaves correct sentences alone, so your tone, vocabulary and structure stay the same.
Does it support US and UK English?
Yes. It keeps the spelling convention your text already uses. If a text mixes US and UK spellings, it follows the convention that appears most often.
Can it check other languages?
Yes. It proofreads text in more than 50 languages and always answers in the language you wrote in.
What kinds of errors does it fix?
Spelling, punctuation, capitalisation, subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, commonly confused words such as their, there and they're, and obvious word-choice mistakes.
Is my text stored?
Text from logged-out visitors is processed and discarded. We never use your writing to train models.
